Suminagashi Papers
15€ per sheet

The ancestor of marbling is the Japanese technique called Suminagashi. Here, the inks are thrown onto water and not, as in standard marbling, onto a thickened bath, which results in a looser, unpredictable motif. Instead of controling the color, you have to follow them, searching out their poetry and hidden magic.

I really enjoy using this technique to layer forms, and to marry it with the more standard techniques of marbling.
